Of all the mediums I was taught to use in art school, pastels turned out to be my favorite. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study under master pastellist, Virgil Sova. I was captivated by his work. The rich, colorful landscapes and figurative works that he created certainly had influenced my decision-making. I was “drawn” to it (no pun intended). The direct, spontaneous and limitless effects that can be obtained make this medium a joy to work with.I have been painting in and teaching pastels for over 20 years. And now I welcome you to my new 800 square foot studio located in the “Studios on Walnut” in historic Milton, Delaware. Here I will be holding workshops, semester courses, and private instruction throughout the year. Other courses will include drawing basics and composition. Courses and workshops for intermediate and advanced levels will be available soon.
